For me, growing up here and experiencing the great things this place has to offer was great and I’m proud to say it’s still my home after so many years. That’s right, this City of Chicago site is written and maintained by a resident of the area, not by some tourism business that gives you basic information and doesn’t explain what you are in for before going.

Here on this site, I will not only give you the usual information, but also practical advice and detailed descriptions with my own personal experiences and opinions as well.

Like I said at the top of this page, I have lived near the city all my life and the first time I went downtown I was very young and me and my family just spent the day there eating the great food, checking out the great museums, and going to Navy Pair. (This in its self is a reason to vacation here).

Since that first time, my family and I are now frequent visitors.

When I was young, I used to come here for the amusement parks and the kids museums. Now I go for the great shopping, and (depending on the season) the sports.

I love all Chicago sports and watching them live is amazing, especially when the weather is great which if it was like California type weather, then it would be paradise here.

In the summer, It’s all about Lake Michigan, Navy Pair, and going outside enjoying the great festivals and parks, which most can be found on the lake front. There is so much to do at Navy Pair alone, that is, if you like shopping, food, entertainment parks, and great people
